Not so good, I like the tkc on gravel and on-road, but in wet muddy conditions, quite slippery. The front wheel likes to take directions that I hadn't in mind all the time.
The self-cleaning aspect of the tires was bad. My friend was riding on mt21. Much better selfcleaning, better control in the mud, but he is also a driver with a lot of experiance.
I would say, the tkc is a good tyre as long its stays dry.
But still better than the original tourances off-course.

In this case, I'd say: colour, more vivid.

It's not even a real video camera, it's my little coolpix with a tripod that I shoved down my cleavage. :D

Dirt looks better in colour, so colour it is. =)

Mech 04-08-09 03:46

Haha! It took me half of yesterday to clean it all off.... the gutter in my street looked like a chocolate stream! Bloody good fun though! Can't wait to get an invite to go again!

Today, lost in the woods:

http://i369.photobucket.com/albums/o...lgan/woods.jpg

I love exploring the pine heaths (or is it called moores in english?), the ground is soft and mostly sand, they are open, full of trails and you can go anywhere. This trip ended up on the beach though where I worked on my tan a bit. :004:

Molgan...that was super cool man....wow, that vid just made me XT horny...wanna go riding first thing in the morning...love it:luv[1]:

Old skool

Not really sure if this is okay to say this here but I didn't really get on with my new xt660z and I have just sold it to get one of these.....

http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...ker/tenere.jpg

To be honest, I couldn't be happier. It has so much soul and is so much fun to ride, beautiful handling, just the right height, nice and light and tons of character. It isn't quite as clean as it looks in the picture and isn't exactly concours condition but it seems okay and runs beautifully. Over the winter I am going to get David Lambeth to dig around inside the engine and get some Ohlins springs for the front and back and other than that it is all ready to go

And then I might be tempted to kick JMos butt in the Heroes Legend Rally next year !

A challenge, great! New age vs. old school, that spices things up a notch. :D

It's TKC80, see thread: http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=7205

They have been 50/50 on and off the road and I have been really happy with them. Comfortable on the tarmac and good grip in the gravel. The Tenere should have these tires as standard in my opinion, a perfect match. Even so I'm gonna switch to something more suited for the sand and mud now when the tkc are finished.

Yahoo! I love mountain ridin'! Done a couple of them over the years: the Tourmalet(Pyrenees), Mont Ventoux, Alpes d'Huez, Vogezen, Hautes Provence etc.. Every time it's an adventure all over again, climbing those steep&twisty mountain roads with yer thumper, it's a thrill!
Thanx for the pics, inspiring again.

Tenere Landing in OZ in 2 weeks

For anyone in OZ watching this thread might like to know

I put a deposite down on my deal today. While I was talking to the dealer he told me a bit about why it was taking so long for this bike to get here. The reason why is - as the ghost rider who was testing the bike was told to put 50,000 kms on it so they could come up with a hit list of things that yamaha aust. wanted changed and in regards to these items being changed, yammy aust. were told they were going to have to wait if they wanted these changes done.

The things that i can remember are:
1-The suspension in the front has had stronger springs put in. (im not sure if the rear has been touched)
2-The paper air filter that is standard in the european models, has been changed to a foam filter for OZ.
3-I think something had to be done with the top edge of the windsheild.

i'm sure there was 1 or 2 other things that i can't remember.....sorry!

Cheers
Regie.

The swine flu have now destroyed 2.6% of my biking season, the weather outside is perfect for a trip out in the wilderness and I'm stuck inhere feeling like a pig. It sucks!

A pic from the last trip before I got sick. It's so easy to recruit new XToholics, a short test ride and they are all smiling and grinning:

Was out playing in the sand today:

http://i369.photobucket.com/albums/o...t/DSCN1624.jpg

On the way home I had some problems keeping the correct angle:

http://i369.photobucket.com/albums/o...t/DSCN1638.jpg

It hit me that I fall to the right side at least 80% of the times, and usually I only hurt myself when I fall to the left side.
Strange. Made some inquires and found that many other drivers had the same tendency but reversed:

http://i369.photobucket.com/albums/o...allen_tens.jpg

Wonder if it's because I'm left handed? Is there an explanation to these patterns?

Who knows, and in the end, who cares? =)

Edit: Look, it happened again:

Weird.

When you say 'keeps the vibes away', are they less vibey than the std bars with the weights?

zezecastro, How do rate the X-race exhaust

zezecastro 17-09-09 22:51

The x-racing is great! I love it. I ordered it from italy and it took 4 working days.

Pros: It's much more lighter than the original one. This makes the bike more fun!! The bike is now more linear and with a continuous rpm's mainly below 3500/4000.. It looks great with a cut tail. And it is very cheap.

Cons: it makes a lot of noise. It's impossible to ride without the db killer. :068: It backfires a lot.. :068::068::068:

(for me its not a problem, i like the noise and like someone says "Loud pipes safe lifes". But my neighbors and the police dont. :003: )

when i get my new phone i will put a "sound video" here.

Sorry my english..

Best regards
