Access Database developer

I specialise in Access/Excel/VBA - but I'm trained as a designer (arch) and my background was in university and government admin, which is how I got into IT - automating menial tasks. Hate it - well the large group-think departments I have to work with. I'm thinking of going back into solo design and manufacturing (timber small scale furnishings), oh, I've been a solo designer/maker ... and a Cannondale MTB mechanic .... and bicycle courier ... and ....

School - fail
Stockman - sheep (northern South Oz)
Odd unimportant jobs for railway-building company (Dampier, Western Australia)
Die setter (nasty job)
Delivery driver (scary job - tight schedules)
Motorcycle sales geek
Own m/c parts business (stress and the public...)
Stockman - cattle (Northern Territory)
Shelf filler for supermarket (had to pay the mortgage)
Micro refining (distillation really) - diesel + byproducts (NT: operator, and NSW: site supervisor). Great job, huge hours
Cooling tower refurbisher and office geek
Water leak detector (meters and mains... weird job)
Motorcycle spares geek (nasty job)
Proofreading when I can get it
Mustering contractor - sheep (northern South Oz) Great job, huge hours and dangerous though

But my real reason for being born was to spend almost everything on lots and lots of motorbikes. I have been addicted for fifty years and don't want to be cured, thanks for the offer anyway.

Job

These days I work as a part time parts person in a Motorcycle shop but I was a Project Manager/Process Engineer in the Super Yacht Industry. Started out in 1976 as a Cabinetmaker and moved into boatbuilding in or around 1980. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to stressful though. Rather play with bikes.
Last Project before getting out was "MY Amadeus"

What's my line????

I've worked for a major UK Telecomms company for over 30 years. I have been an exchange builder, back in the last days of Strowger, a diagnostic technicain, field engineer, asbestos recoveries and general building works clerk of works, small works planner, facilities engineer at a 1200 seat call centre, commercial relationship manager and now I'm a special projects manager.
I project manage short to medium term projects currently including deployment of permanently installed fall arrest systems on the high radio tower estate and the annual towers painting project.
I have an office in a small room at home and only visit the main office once a week for people management duties of a small team of draughtsmen.
Occaisionally I get out on site to resolve problems, devise solutions and monitor quality.
I moved to Scotland because most of our towers are up here. Usually a drive to a tower involves anything from a few hundred yards to several miles of poorly surfaced tarmac or gravel road - which is why I have a land Rover Freelander as my daily drive. The bike isn't insured for more than commuting to one regular location (so that'll be the glasgow office) and anyway, to climb a tower I need to carry about 30lbs of PPE....although I have on odd occaisions used the bike in the summer if I'm going to an easy site.
There are a few towers where there is no road, so that'll be a walk in or exceptionally a helicopter.
