I did my apprenticeship as a fitter/machinist and did thisfor 9 yrs until being made redundant in 1983' I then joined the RAF and served 23 years as a propulsion technician working on Tornado, Harrier, Hawk and most memorably the BBMF Lancaster.
After leaving the RAF in 2006 I did a year at Plymouth airport servicing the helicopters that did the Scilly island run, I now work for a company that produce combined heat and power packages up to 15 megawatts and carry out strip, inspect, rebuild and test of the gas turbines used in the sets( industrial version of the C130 Hercules engine). Now work 4 days a week and am looking forward to making that 0 days a week as soon as my accountant(wife) says we can afford it, hopefully about 12 months.
