The way i do it is like in 3rd gear, then jump up on the seat.
Close the throttle and then slam it open and up she comes!

Like this is the most easy way for me as i can keep it up for several kilometers, as for a simple sitdown wheely just pop the cluth in 2nd gear at 35 km/h and go trhough the gears 3, 4, 5 and have fun.

nae wonder they call ye XTX Lunatic....ave been doin wheelies fur years an am still not at that stage...ye must be a lunatic right enough tae be doin that.....Ma pal does it but one foot on the back rack the other on the back brake......ye need tae or else....

I am having great trouble wheelieing my XTX, I have read what everyone has been saying about covering the back brake but when i do i find my foot keeps falling off the pedal which leads to all sorts of wobbles. If I ignore the back brake it seems to be much easier and if I want the front to come down the engine braking seems to do this for me. I know this is not good wheelie pratice but its the only way i can seem to get it to work. Doing them off the clutch scares the crap out of me. What gear should you be in for clutch ones and how fast should you be going?

This is 8 months on since ma trys on m xt trying tae do wheelies///an a`l tell ye a think the XT is the best out there fur doin wheelies a read in some earlier posts guys syin if they only had another 100brake theyd be ok....balony....ye kin wheelie on something at 4 brake ...I`m now runnin an 04 xtx wi standard pipes an stage 1 an 2 filters and standard 15 sprockets...ave done 5th gear wheelies just last weekend....fae 1st from standing start then 2,3,4,5...but guys thats easy said,,, ye need practise fur that....John/Mabozzar

I find the easiest way to wheelie my R is at about 10-18 mph 1st gear, bring in the clutch pop it and hit the accelerator at the same time. you have to do it in a nice smooth fast movement with a little bit of pump on the forks to help. if i can fidn the pictures and vids of me wheelieing ill post them up!

apperently you can wheelie nicely in 2nd gear about 25-30 mph, again pop the clutch and hit the accelerator. ive not mannaged this on mine yet but that might be because of the restrictor i have on it! grrrrr!

you can power wheelie the xt in first just by pumping the forks and smashing open the throttle, but its quite scary doing that because the front end hops up so damn quick you S**t your pants! best thing to do is to use your clutch then your in control.

if your getting too high then tap the back brake and that will bring you back down or simply ease off the throttle a little!
dont just let it go cos u end up sat on the handlebars! lol
