Nice products - thanks for the link.
It's probably a good job KTM haven't launched a 690 Adventure as I would be obliged to buy one!! |

Let's look at the bike from a different perspective...
http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/6988/vielsalm1.jpg Went offroading in the belgian Ardennes. Made some rookie mistakes. A little bit too fast, some muddy grooves, some loose and heavy branches and a whole lot of "target fixation". As a result, front wheel called it a day and parked myself 90 in the grass. Only my selfconfidence and ego got a a bit damaged. Mirrors had to be retightend. Just picked it up, good to go. Proofs again these bikes are really "made" for crashing :) http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/5459/vielsalm5.jpg looks nasty... http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/6818/vielsalm4.jpg You see, back on its feet, no harm done.. |
Hi, everyone
My XT660Z, that I've already been waiting for for over a year (waiting for Santa to arrive), will start its life with me early December 2012. Until then I voraciously read up about and look at everything pertaining to the XT660Z. My question: Why are some of the pics not visible to me (something about Domain unregistered. Register at bit.ly/imageshack -domain)? Regards |
Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but why do you have to wait so long until you are able to get a Tenere and how will you cope for another 6 months!!!???
Btw, I think they prefer you to say Hello in the Newbies section... |

and finally with high kahedo seat
the bike has now 98cm seat height ! (rising kit and +4 cm seat) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8018/7...ebac355f_o.jpg |

How does it feel to ride and where did you buy the seat from? |
Nice nice nice
:088:i want one |
I got it from somebody who found this one to high , so we just swapped seats ! :)
it just feels great , it's high ! , I'm 1.91 meter and I can just touch the ground with my feet , but the bike handles so damn better ! also on pavement , the oem seat is way too soft , which makes you hang on the bike whenever you lean into a corner , now the bike listens to your body when you want it , as the seat is much stiffer then the original one ... also no more vibrations in the seat , my girlfriend rode a test ride with me and says she doesn't have the vibration anymore she had before , making her ass fall asleep after a few km ... , but she almost never drives along , so that's no problem , so I got rid of the duo footpegs |
You are a tall guy! I'm only 1,74 and sometimes I need a strong leg to push the bike back in the line, but I'm not going to install a lowering links! I'm too proud to do that
|
pff 191 is not tall, I'm 203 :p
Btw, Kemizz, I can highly recommend SWMOTECH footpegs. You can lower them by 1,5 cm which didn't sound like a lot, but it really helped in my case. |
well... when we're on the subject; here's mine:

love that photo of the bike in the middle of the road with like 4 foot of snow/ice:icon_cheers:

Hi, Maxwell1...
Apologies then - somehow thought I'd already said "Hi!" quite a while ago (joined 2010), but if not, I'll rectify the situation pronto. Why am I waiting so long for my XT660Z? I'm retiring (retiring, me?!) then and along with that the means of being able to buy my loooong - awaited adventure bike. |
Nice picture with the bike next to the tunel. Where was it?

oh god I love these arrow's exhausts , best sounding pipes for the ten ,
but the are not street legal , that's why I didn't order them at OTR |

Unfortunately any exhaust that replaces the catalytic converter with a simple pipe is marked as "Race Only" which makes sense pollution-wise. :sad9: |
Hello everybody:-)
New on this forum, had my Tenere from member of this forum. I have chop the tail as can't stand original and here she is:-) http://i1.fmix.pl/fmi2102/03bc5c78000db857508eb74f http://i3.fmix.pl/fmi2827/3362401a0022492a508eb7db http://i2.fmix.pl/fmi2079/47a0226e0026acf8508eb841 |
nice look of your bike , welcome and enjoy going out on the trails ....
Martin |
Bartosz - hi and welcome. i like what you have done with the tail, i want to do something similar. looks like you moved the plate light up....any close up photos??
|
Hello Gents, Yes i have moved reg plate light up as i don't want to be illegal... (at least with this bit :icon_colors:)
This is just quick chop job, and it's only first stage (see below) but it has to be done as i really can't stand original tail :-) My main concern was the fact that this light will be at the angle and white bulb can be visible for the drivers behind me. So i have put a stripe of black tape covering upper half of transparent plastic cover on the bottom of this bulb box (inside, nice and neat). This prove to be the perfect solution - enough light on the plate and no bright, direct light to the back. I have chop the rear plastic just below indicator mount, but in the future i'm planning to move indicators up, in to locations used for pannier rack (i think) just below rear grab handles, and then chop the plastic just above this original indicator/plate light/ reflective light mount. Will do some close up photos sunday |
|
Su999 - that's exactly what i want to do. Can You show on photos how did You bolt them on to the frame?
And now requested close ups from me: http://i3.fmix.pl/fmi2330/8bf6f9560027dbae5096b745 http://i2.fmix.pl/fmi2541/5a20b098001579315096b754 And one more Photo from today's ride :-) http://i2.fmix.pl/fmi1011/075147550026ac535096ad8a |
I ain't got many photos as it was a fiddly job and didn't have enough free hands to photo.
The basics are a long m6 bolt 50mm, a rubber washer & standard washer on outside to protect frame (10mm dia) Similar inside to protect frame and a nyloc nut. The cables were drawn back through the number plate mount and a fair amount of panel work and trim had to come off to enable you to get your hands / 10mm socket inside the rear frame to tighten. Hope that makes sense. |
