Bonjour Fleur!
even with new tyres (fitted by kwik-fit) you cant stay on it!! :098: Bet it feels heavy after your DR650. |
Hi Phil
Yep heavier but OK !!! thinking of smaller sprocket for the front off road , that lay down was your typical balls up !!! been over, under and in way worse places that day and was off'd by a CLUMP OF GRASS ..............legs not long enough :digging: Not as bad as Andy though https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-W...2017.04.36.jpg https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-W...2017.04.47.jpg https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-J...2017.05.23.jpg |

Went for a ride though Nanga Brook, the Ten was quite sure footed on WA peastone gravel (basically red ball bearings!)

Hi! Haven't posted on these forums for 3 years I think. Best place to ressurect is in the thread I once started I guess. Haven't driven much past years (good reasons, wife, kids, new house etc), but still have my beloved Ten. I have rewarded her for her hard work pulling me through mud and along adveturous roads with negliance though.. Found her a while ago out in the shed, and she looked like crap. Started ripping off things that was beyond repair and it wasn't much left afterwards.
http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/3982/aa8m.jpg Now I've restored some of the glory, most parts have been replaced and the machinery is in mint condition. Still lot to do but she can roll around with her head held high again. =) http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/102/gl7r.jpg http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/5569/4xf4.jpg Now I want to get rid of the turbulence, fix the scratches and missing parts that are left, get a new saddle (without the "bump"), maybe try some of the mods that this site is famous for and get out there again! |
Your Tener pictures thread
From the ashes rises a Phoenix! Good to see that you and the old girl are back on the road (and forum) again.
|
yeah and get that chain guide fitted!
good to see you back! |

Hey Dallas!
Got home from work today and the bike had more white paint on it. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/5708/mo5f.jpg Getting dark early up here now, reminds me that the summer season is over in a couple of weeks. +9C when riding to work this morning. =( But looking forward to put on the studs and start island hopping over the ice! =) |

Hi everyone. Just got my new baby here in Ethiopia, and looking forward to having lots of adventures around East Africa with her. Here is what I have added on the bike so far:
1. SW Mototech Crash Bar: Quite sturdy crash bars which go well with the bikes design and also protect the sides and the tank. The first thing I bought for my Ten. http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps381ff1aa.jpg 2. Engine Guard And Center Stand: The steel engine guard was a must to replace the stock plastic one. The centre stand is fantastic to have, I dont need to say more... http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps78b64344.jpg 3. Aluminium Chain Guard: I like aluminium http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps1e730c61.jpg 4. Axle Protectors, front and rear http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps71a64a6e.png 5. Bushguards: these are incredibly strong. Ive had a couple of falls and these things only came out with scratches.. http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...psceeb2fd4.jpg 6. Tank Pad Protection: For the tank bag.... http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps6a540ca1.jpg 7. Yamaha Side and Top Cases http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...psa35b1a99.png 8. 12V Plug: Goos accessory to have. Can take up to 24W (but if you change the fuse that came with you can get a bit more out of it if needed)... http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps245408a4.jpg 9. iPhone Waterproof case and Charger: Vital http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...pse0b17e80.jpg 10. Healdight Protector Clear http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps2681c63b.jpg 11. Givi Tall Windsceen: I'm not the tallest guy around. At about 174 cm, the wind was hitting my helmet above 100km/h, so I suppose the stock wind guard is simply too short. http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps0b9ba9de.jpg 12. Gipro Gear Indicator: Just Because.... http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps13a92e29.jpg 13. Battery Charge Level indicator: If your going to add things to your bike that require power, you are going to want to keep an eye on the battery level. Its also a way a knowing that your dyno is working and charging the batt when the bike is running. Having no kick start, your batt is one the most precious things to take care of when on a trip... http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...psc839c0d5.jpg 14. Sound System: I love music and need to listen to something while im cruising...Waterproof, with AUX to connect to your phone... http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps69ad01ce.png 15. Heated Grips: for the colder climates. Got the heating pads for 5 and they work pretty well...good alternative to Oxfords expensive solution. http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps824a6103.png 16. Added Headlights: I still can't get used to the lights not turning with the steering...so i came up with this solution..55W each halogen bulbs and bright as hell...I get noticed a lots easier on the road and they are amazing at night... really happy with them. http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps7d4ab2ce.png 17. Extra Headlight and heated grips switches: Added switches to control my new toys . http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps0d27449f.jpg 18. Dashboard View http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...psf6c5f3de.jpg 19. My Tnr http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps8a04a3cd.png I would like to add a radiator guard. Im still looking for a strong enough grill to make it out of. Also a chain oiler maybe at some point. And as soon as I find time I'm cutting some foam form my seat to lower it a bit. Overall, I am still getting used to this beast...but i can tell we are going to get along very well. Great bike. I wouldnt have chosen anything else .. |

hahaha...not a bad idea actually:eusa_think: lol on a more serious note though, has anyone replaced the stock alternator/stator in the tenere? The current one produces a max 291W. A stock bike can consume a max of 280W (with radiator fan, high beams, blinkers etc in use). This potentially does not leave enough power to add anything really without draining the battery a bit. Anyone has any idea on this matter? thx Sev |

Here's a couple of mine on a 1,200 mile round trip to Scotland
Absolutely NO motorways. Great fun, especially the bit where I got completely lost in Yorkshire for 6 hours!
