Dirt road in central Portugal... The beach is 1km to the left. Lots of sand trails in the trees, luckily they didn't tempt me !!

It's a SW-Motech one, for sale at offtheroad.de.
It was stock on my bike, just as the Trax sidecases.

On the last comment: I think it's a WWII pillbox/bunker of some kind, so maybe connected to a monument probably, therefore the flag? Don't be too quick with your judgements. Hope Alan can give us the answer?

I was on my way to a big meeting (over 650 bikes), but we had rain all day.
Only the die hards showed up (about 70 people).
They are going to try it again next weekend.

Too bad we haven't got any nice offroad spots over here.
Most trails are closed due to the motocross people:(.

I wish I could say I kept up with them, but I didn't.:Christo_pull_hair:
The day was comprised of riding by trails to 3 different enduro tracks, and all I wanted to do was to ride the trails and take pictures in the tracks.
Too bad that the trails were mostly deep sand (a fact that the organizer forgot to mention). I fell about 6 times, rode rather slow, and casued the group top hang back a little bit and wait for me several times.
It was challenging and tiring as hell, but incredibly fun.

Israel is bike heaven in that respect. The only trails that are closed to traffic are military training zones, and usually they are open during the week end. At worst you just need to call the regional army office and coordinate your entry.
Even private lands are open for traffic. You're only asked to closed the cattle gate behind you.:happy7:

Up here they just call the police when they see you entering private land.
We also got lots of hikers/nordic walking people, which are always whining about other traffic. Not to mention the people with horses.

First long trip of the year, looked into doing a trip round Galloway but that came in at 360 mile so decided to have a run up the north east coast. Doing a few trails natch.

http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o.../4121775_n.jpg

Warkworth Castle.

http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o.../4126408_n.jpg

The beach at Boulmer.

http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o.../7821533_n.jpg

Don't come here, it's rubbish.

http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o.../4837745_n.jpg

Skip throo the tourist spots, too many people, too many cars. Get confused as to where the GPS is taking me?? End up ignoring it and getting mostly lost, do a full circle and end up here, the second most northerly trail in england.

http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o.../6313497_n.jpg

Stop for a cool in the shade and find a puggyed nest.

http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o.../7217078_n.jpg

Rains, that one cloud got me three times. My back looses the fight with a big heavy gate at the end of the trail.

http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o...r/255442_n.jpg

The all new Brandon Ford, keeps getting washed out, hard to believe looking at the trickle of water.

http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o.../1003736_n.jpg

View upstream, must get up here when it's in floood.

http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o.../1482791_n.jpg

Back is really starting to give me jip so miss the bumpy stuff, though stick me nose down a few trails for a looksee, and find a little previously unknown corker, two fords and a track troo the woods. Take the tarmac back and find a nice spot for a last stop before home.

http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o.../1854116_n.jpg

This is just across the valley from Rothbury.

http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/o.../2812422_n.jpg

Get home and apart from the back ache, not too bad though still not what I'd call bike fit, lack of winter riding, 180 mile, bout a million dead insects and just the right side of the FTrip coming on, I do like this bike.

Now that the suns oot I feel a wkend in Galloway doing that 360 mile.

I picked up my Tenere last week and thought the best place to run it in is out on a very dry and dusty Salisbury Plain.
200 miles door to door with about 90 of those on the gravel and chalk byways of Wiltshire.

No problem.

Ive got a route of about 150 miles but i had to be home by lunchtime last week so that was all i could do.

If you want to come down in June, there are two free Saturdays (i can't do Sundays) when both the Bulford rifle range and the Westdown/Larkhill artillary range byways are open.....they are

Saturday the 19th and the 26th.

If there is any interest then I'll post up the details in the "ride out" section.

And if anybody wants to borrow my maps then please give me a shout.

Cheers,
Andy.
