Hi 23 years working for the M O D made redundant 2 years ago now :smile[2]:happy as a pig in poo as a maintenance man.

Airline Pilot currently based in Faro Portugal...I get more of a buzz riding the Tenere to and from the airport than the B737-800 I currently Captain!

Yesterday night I was a Yamaha XT test drive, but sudently, the alarm clock woke me up.

See if any of you can top this for a boring job, I make cardboard boxes, all day, every day, millions of em! I even have a third level qualification as a Boxmaker! There was even an episode of the Simpsons where Bart visited a box factory, and was asked would he like to do this when he grows up, and he replied "Its always been the dream, man!"

So I am living the dream :laughing5:

But what may be of interest to the forum, I am also a Steel Rule Cutting Die maker by trade, and so have made cutting dies that stamp out gaskets, labels etc. (and boxes of course!), so if anyone would like to know anything in that area just ask. I unfortunately do not have access to any equipment to make any cutting dies any more.

I'm a specialised plant engineer working mainly in the gas industry (both on-shore and off-shore) but also doing water and hydro work. I hire, sell and maintain computerised welding equipment for welding plastic pipes, anything from 25mm to 1600mm. I work mainly in Scotland and Ireland but sometimes in Europe and occasionally in more far flung exotic places like Cuba, Fiji and Azerbaijan.
I'm just back from a few days up in Wester Ross, fantastic roads and weather and I'm stuck in a van being passed by loads of bikes!!!!!!! It's not fair.

well Gordon all i can say is get me a job,,, I`ma Bricklayer an a good one at that,, i do all wet trades,,, slabbing, bricks blocks stone, edging, roughcasting light plastering internal. looking at the present fur some work,, a do get an odd shift here an there... But seriously Gordon,, kin ye not get me a job...........I was out yesterday as well, wi Colros, Stumpy n neil, Motherwell tae abington, down the thornhill pass, on to Moineve, lunch, fae there back up the Thornhill road. to moffat, past st Mary`s loch Tibbie shiels, all the way tae Selkirk, then to peeples, Carnwath fur a coffee at Andy/stumpy`s, then down the road... sun was shining all day probably around 65 deggrees, Man that was Boring...........180 miles o SMILES....ha ha.:106:.Oh an a nearly forgot..we stopped at Moffat on got a pokeyhat wi a big choclate thing stuck down the gubbings.. a think ye call it a 99......AND a was on ma Yam XTR

The work is interesting, the politics in banks suck though!

I work in the electricity industry, mainly commissioning new equipment onto the 400kV transmission system, you know, new generating stations and transformers etc. It can be stressful, signing on the dotted line to say that multi-million pound equipment is safe to be put into service and also issueing safety documents to allow work on high voltage bits and pieces. Been doing it since I left school, cough years ago.:080:
