Looks beautiful :hello2:. Can you send me in pm from where have you buy it and cost? Thank you

Easy E 03-11-11 02:54

@ Scarab1987. Nice handlebars!

are these handlebars less wide than the original bars? I have the original handlebars and sometimes it gets really close when I'm split laning in high traffic. every cm less would help...

scarab1987 03-11-11 07:13

the site is this: http://billsrebuilts.gr/PROTAPER.htm

i bought them for 100 euro (inc. shiping costs).this bar has the same length with the original but it has lines to cut it. protaper has big variety of bars to choose.

meganextx 03-11-11 10:03

:signthankspin: for the info

These are the mods done to my 2007 XTX:

> DNA stage 3 Air Box
> Leo Vince Exhausts
> PCIII With Custom Fuel Map
> AIS blocked
> Kev front fork mod
> rear spring two clicks stiffer
> Kev throttle grip mod

I got jump started with these modifications while randomly checking ebay a few months ago on XT660 parts and came across Kev's Stage 3 box. Didn't waste time and bought it outright. The rest happened as a result and with big help and good advise from Kev.

I fitted the Leovince cans myself. :041:

All these mods have been excellent and improved my ride big time. :smilies0349: Highly recommended!

t oday i degreased my chain and put wax instead of lube on. Looks a lot cleaner. Which i like. (and this is the mod I've done this week to qualify for this thread. :smilies0948: all the other ones were done a bit earlier this year.)

and this is it.

afk40 12-11-11 20:52

I washed mine ready to sell it

Pleiades 13-11-11 21:43

Fitted Yacugar progressive fork springs, Hel brake lines and freshly greased the head races - the front half of the bike feels like new! Now for the blunt end...

jimmysimpson 13-11-11 22:40

I got mine dirtier than it was already.

Ni3ous 13-11-11 22:44

In past two weeks I disasembled whole bike except frame and engine, to clean it properly after a hard season.
Also changed all bearings, sprockets, chain...
Also cleaned whole bike very carefully.
I dissasemled wheels and spokes, I chromed spokes, painted rims and my bashplate in white...
There is still some work to do, so this is only half way, but its getting there soon...

Ni3ous 14-11-11 12:30

And also picture somewhere half way done:

but i had an inspiration about what you will see.i puted a radial brake master cylinder from a suzuki gsxr 750 k7-k8.also i puted the clutch lever bracket from the same motorcycle.finally i bought from ebay a set of adjustable levers.the braking power is at least perfect.the brake fluid reservoir bracket is handmade.i think that you will like them like me.and some pics:

http://i876.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/100_1009.jpg

but i like the modifications and i made my clutch lever lighter ta least 50% with this mod below.this is absolutely handmade as it is and the clutch cable bracket.the sense of clutch is perfect.

scarab1987 06-12-11 07:26

New chain and service

Fitted new DID VMX chain, looks very good in gold, nice bling! Fitted a new set of TKC 80's, did a full service and fitted a K&N air filter interpretation for my Jan trip.

Used the Motion Pro lightweight chain tool for the first time and must say that although the instructions are not very clear, once you figure it out, the tool works very well, you do need to be careful to line everything up properly, but the tool did exactly what it was s'posed to and it was an easy job. Very happy with it, thumbs up to Motion Pro!

Fitted a "Stoic Bloke" chain guide to my 660Z.

Suffered a chain derailment earlier in the year which fractured the swing arm... Nasty!! Shouldn't happen again.

http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/...t/18980C1F.jpg

Thanks for the help Bernard.

jimmysimpson 28-12-11 23:45

Dumped mine on a slippy trail caused by looking round to see where Fiddich was so it was his fault. lol. Not a scratch.

Pleiades 29-12-11 12:01

Not very exciting, but I fitted a small aluminium flap to the end of the chain guard to stop my luggage getting covered in oil fling from the Scottoiler - it works too! Well oiled chain with less mess...

Cush Drive Mod

Today i forced myself to do the cush drive mod, been needing to do it for a while now and it was a miserable day so i got myself set up and did it. Zero play whatsoever in the sprocket and adjusted chain tension as well. Should sort out a bit of the surging which had returned slightly. Next step - New sprocket.

The chain guide mod is well covered by Stoic Bloke in this thread...

http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=17951

The chain guide block is one that was common to many KTM exc models from about 2000 - 2006 (year models).

Cheers
