Headstock bearings - replaced
 

Replaced the bottom bearing. 33K black and crunchy.

Managed to remove everything with bike on rear axle stand and propped up on side-stand and gear case.

I've been busy this week.

- Made up a rack and fitted a tool tube
- Mounted sweet new 20$-but-really-well-made levers
- And for the first time mounted knobbies!

Removed engine for second hand unit to go in

Had new chain sprockets bearing and cush drive rubbers fitted-like a new bike

Fitted and tested a rear Mitas E09. Sweet tyre. No drama on tarmac and stable on dry trails. Mileage is the watchword.

over the past 2 weeks:
- installed Guard-It bash plate
- installed SW-Motech center stand
- replaced brake pads front+rear
- installed foam air filter and cut down the snorkel (I still had the one from my previous Ten as a spare)
- changed spark plug
- changed oil+filter
- fitted the rims with road tyres (scorpion trail)

So we should all good to go for our trip across the channel starting next Saturday. Spending a week in Wales then riding through the peak district to the lake district, the acrossto the Yorkshire Dales and on to the North York Moors. Grabbing the Ferry back to Belgium after some 2 weeks of riding.

Had my 25KW (33bhp) restrictor taken off today, what a difference, got a set of MTC cans and stage 1 + 2 filter, goes really well now! happy as larry!

Took it into the bush, put 600km on it...
 

Took the XTR into the bush in a group ride. Reckon I've finished almost all the mods now. All went great in the mods dept.

Only thing left to do: PCV & DNA stage 2 filters (in a box in the shed) & heated grips (any suggestions on the brand?)

This weeks project is a set of fork valves to
give adjustable compression & rebound damping....
Now to find springs in the right size & rate..

these sit between the damping rods & spring...

Had my forks done and it changed the handling of the bike so much, but after you get the front working better you will notice how bad the rear shock is.
