hope all goes will mcthor. So how does the XT now handle with the larger fuel tank. Placing alot more wieght up front and higher the bike must feel alot more top heavy and get some time getting us to?? Any ways i cant wait to see photos and a spec for the new tank from Acerbis. As soon as anyone finds out please post it on the website for all of us to see.

Well, as described in another thread, I've got the tank, but not the tankcap (and some other stuff). Didn't see the point in half-fitting the bike, since I use it on a daily basis. Figured I'd fit it all when I have it all. Hope to have the tankcap and the bashplate tomorrow though.

In any case; any weight you put on the bike is going to alter it's performance. But yeah, placing an extra 14 kg's where the tank is, is undoubtedly going to make it topheavy. Going to be a beeatch to lift back up when/if I drop it. But I guess it's a compromise I'll have to live with for carrying extra fuel. Not to mention all my bags and panniers. But hey, I sure as hell aint going to travel across Africa with just a toothbrush and a Visa card, just so the bike wont be heavy to lift up :).

And yeah, I'll be posting pics as soon as I have them. Again, I hope I get the stuff tomorrow. Will still be missing the windshield and crashbars though, since they were sent later than the bashplate and tankcap. But maybe I'll get lucky. You guys will be the first to know.

Got notice today when I came back from a drive that they'd tried to deliver a package. It is ready for pickup at my local postoffice tomorrow. Yay!
