Dino,

With the new airbox cover, how much is this going to lower the wading depth of the bike ? In my experience with a modified cover on the TTR (which made a big difference to the power), due to the manner in which the water rises up the side of the bike during river crossings (or puddles as we know them here!) it reduced it by nearly 300mm. The TTR airbox modification was down the side due to the filter running vertically, where as the Tenere has a tube filter.

With the Tenere breather tube being blocked (due to heavy oil venting) any water ingress would cause a problem.

Only really a problem to those with lots of water around, we have some water crossings that are very close to the Tenere's limit here in Northern England.

We are studying the possibility to produce a special cover that we can offer as an optional choice.
This cover will be open only at the top side, it will slightly reduce the air flow, but it will allow more wading depth.
It will attach on the outside of the filter when it is time for off road and it will be easy to remove if on road.
We havent figured out how to do it, but we are working on it.

I hope the above helps,

Best regards,

Dino

EDITED By me.

Fozzy please forgive me if I have to edit your post, I don't want to offend the hard work DNA is doing for the forum as a whole, I fully appreciate your concern but I would prefer if these comments were kept out of the public view. Surely if you don't intend to purchase the filter, we appreciate it too. Sorry.

I have to say that when OTR rips people off with his daylight robbery prices for a pair of footpegs no one says anything, people just roll over because it's Off the Road.

With DNA you pay for quality and proven performance.

Thanks

These are such exciting news from DNA, makes me wanna get a bike again!

Ok guys if any of you hardcore Tenere hooligans wants to snap one of these these filters, below are the costs for the unit plus shipping for both Europe and the rest of the World.

The filter is €86 = equivalent to 77 GBP

Please note Dino has instructed me that the shipping costs are as follows:

Postage to all European Countries via UPS Courier (within 4 working days) is €15 = equivalent to 13.24 GBP

Postage WORLDWIDE outside Europe via UPS Courier (within 4 working days) is €30 = equivalent to 27 GBP

Please pm me if you want to order one and I'll take you through the order procedures.

Thanks

Revision dated: 14/02/2010: please note that these prices are what people will pay if they buy directly from the e-DNA website as you can see here:

However if you buy privately by pm thorugh me, there is an extra 10% discount for forum members only. Beat that!

Fair enough but i wouldn't buy a tap washer from OTR saved a fortune getting my power commander from elsewhere and saved nearly 50 getting my dna and stage2 airbox mod, anyone who buys from OTR before doing some research is mad.....

Thanks for being a good sport Fozzy, this was by no means a dig at you, I just need to protect my sponsors and DNA is doing a stellar job for this forum and community. Cheers

Very nice gains from the filters, well done DNA. Dino are you going to supply any Power Commander fuel maps with these filters?

Something else I have noticed the XT660X as standard produces more HP & Torque then the XT660Z standard on the same dyno. This may be because the Z dyno run was with with knobbly tyres & the X had road tyres, what do you think Freez, would the total HP difference be that much with the different tyres?
