CaptMoto 09-11-09 20:48

fozzy, if you wish to get one, no need to contact DNA in Greece, you must buy it through me, so as soon as the price is announced (by DNA) get in contact with me by pm and we'll take it from there. Thanks

CaptMoto 09-11-09 21:16

fozzy :) its a bit of everything, really, but the way we have agreed it between me and DNA is that you pay me, I send the order to DNA and they post the item to you.

Simples!

Hi Guys,

As you already know we have completed all the tests today using a stock XT 660 Z Tenere.
With Very good results!
We tested the following configurations:

Test 1:
Stock XT 660 Z, stock filter, stock air box cover, stock exhausts

Test 2:
Stock XT 660 Z, DNA Stage 1 filter R-Y6E08-01, stock air box cover, stock exhausts

Test 3:
Stock XT 660 Z, DNA Stage 1 filter R-Y6E08-01, DNA Stage 2 air box cover TC-Y6E08-S2 with DNA Stage 1 intake restrictor TCI-Y6E08-S1 installed to lower the airflow down to stock level, stock exhausts
(This configuration can be used if someone prefers to use the stage 2 cover without changing the fueling)

Test 4:
Stock XT 660 Z, DNA Stage 1 filter R-Y6E08-01, DNA Stage 2 air box cover TC-Y6E08-S2, DNA Stage 2 air filter P-Y6E08-S2 (replaces the left side air box cover), stock exhausts
This configuration is almost a Stage 3 application and needs fuel injection recalibration.

Capmoto has already posted the photos and flow data (we thank him).

This new Tenere DNA S2 filter is a regular DNA product and will be distributed through the official DNA distribution network, the official DNA e-shop www.e-dnafilters.com and through www.xt660.com

Pricing we will announce next week, including photos of the complete package.

Thank you for your interest,

Best regards,

Dino Nikolaidis

Dino,

With the new airbox cover, how much is this going to lower the wading depth of the bike ? In my experience with a modified cover on the TTR (which made a big difference to the power), due to the manner in which the water rises up the side of the bike during river crossings (or puddles as we know them here!) it reduced it by nearly 300mm. The TTR airbox modification was down the side due to the filter running vertically, where as the Tenere has a tube filter.

With the Tenere breather tube being blocked (due to heavy oil venting) any water ingress would cause a problem.

Only really a problem to those with lots of water around, we have some water crossings that are very close to the Tenere's limit here in Northern England.

Shouldn't be to much trouble if you are riding with a bunch of very good mates you would just all carry it over on your shoulders, Simple :emoticons:

If I got one I would just use it in the drier months or only when riding on road, which defeats the idea abit :confused2::confused2::confused2::confused2::confu sed2:
