The best deal is to be had with R + G grips: http://www.amazon.co.uk/R-G-Heated-M.../dp/B005FU89QM for about 35
They got a decent write-up from RiDE magazine, but as John said, the controller is the thing that will fail first.
You can probably find them cheaper at the Bike show this weekend?

I bought the Symtec ones for around 45, which are like underfloor heating for your existing grips.
These are fantastic, easy to fit (full instructions included) and REALLY warm.

Fitting thread here : http://www.xt660.com/showpost.php?p=194039&postcount=10

Heated grips + Muffs = Summer gloves all year round!

When the controller fail just fit a fully adjustable one like the one from http://mccoi.de/heatcontroll.php or http://www.enduro-stammtisch.de/module/ghz-e.htm

Hi,

just for the records. I fitted today the Tucano Urbano R319 muffs and they fitted very nicely.
Found no problems to put the muffs around the Barkbuster Storm handguards ( http://www.barkbusters.net/products/17.html).

Few bad pics inside the garage:

Thanks for your help!

Just as an added bit of security, i bought hose clips (jubilee clips) and they go round the crossbar with the stiffened velcro type piece underneath.

Did them up real tight and then filled the slot in the jubilee clip with solder.

Ok, it's not going to stop the most enterprising of thieves but it would take them a couple more minutes to nick them.

Just for info in case anyone else is looking for these. TU have discontinued these and just the universal version is now being made (333 I think) but there have been incompatibility issues on some bikes, so check first. So get these before they go. eBay still has some.

Having blown 50 on these and tried them out on the way to work, I have to say on an XTX I hated them. Had to stop after a few miles and cut the extra furry section off as it was getting caught on my gloves when I took my hand out and then getting in the way when trying to put my hands back in, bloody dangerous in my opinion. Difficult to get to indicators and horn and not very roomy in the right places. Maybe they are fine on an XTZ. Anyone who wants a half price pair with the dangerous bit carefully removed, PM me. They've covered 12 miles and will have everything except the cable ties included.
Now I've spent another 40 on the neoprene ones that are bar end compatible and can't see why it's an issue fitting them inside the hand guards (Yamaha original guards at least ) I'll see how they go on the way home.

I have to say, for what I want, the neoprene is way better, and not the size of a courier bag each either.
