XT660z Tank cover, protection needed.

Hi,

I am using my Tenere off road and want to save the tank getting scratched up from mud etc on my legs.
Are the self adhesive, cut your own shape, tank pads going to be up to the job or is a full cover like a bagster going to be the best option?
Bagsters are more than i want to pay so are there any other options as only require a cover not the ability to attach a tank bag?
thanks

Have a look for some Ventureshield protective film - I've used it on several bikes to protect the plastics from scratches.

I did the tank on my Tenere about 2 years ago with 3M Ventureshield. I'd show you some photos, but you can't actually tell it's there! It has done it's job admirably.

I just got the tank kit which covers the sides by your knees, the top and both the parts that extend forwards. It is easy to fit (if you take you're time).

I paid 35 back then, but it's 40 now. You can also buy a complete kit that covers the headlight fairing and the front mudguard, which I thought unnecessary (especially as the complete kit is 80).

Tank kit available here.
