Vibranator + BarkBuster hand guards

Hi there,

I was wondering whether anyone has tried to fit the Vibranator device with the BarkBuster guards ( http://www.barkbusters.net/products/124.html) on the Tenere xt660z?

The website they claim this model to be compatible with BarkBuster hand guards:

http://www.vibranator.com/product_p/...7-n07-t150.htm

Anyone can share some experience on this?

Thanks!

yes....
I made mine.... they work well...
the trick is connecting the two togeather
on the same bolt... easy to do...
I used a 100mm long bolt that went right though
the bark buster fitting & stuck out so the vibanator
could be screwed on to it....The only thing is I
couldn't find a 100mm long bolt with enough thread on it
so I had to cut the thread longer...
Yer need enough thread sticking out to screw the vibanotor
on as well as a backing nut to lock the vibanator against..

Yes the ones in the link would work just fine....

In fact mine are off the bike at the moment...
I could post a pic of them if yer wish..

I just realised that this model is suitable for 14mm handle bars:

http://www.vibranator.com/product_p/...7-n07-t150.htm

Are Tenere handlebars 12mm or 14mm diameter? (I could not find this info in the manual)

Any picture of the device itself and the device fitted with the handguards will be appreciated.

Did you notice any difference in the vibs after fitting?

Thanks!

I'm now able to ride for more than 30mins now...
the vibes on the XTR were becomeing unbearable.
I also packed the lower section of the bars with sand
& put corks in at the top bends to keep the
sand from comeing up to where the vibeanators are
also put very heavy end weights on...

12mm / 14mm will be the ID of alloy bars...
the standard steel bars are about 18mm ID..
Alloy bars kill vibes better than steel any way...

So I guess I cannot use this:

http://www.vibranator.com/product_p/...7-n07-t150.htm

With the standard handle bar in my TEN then...

It would be great if you can post a couple of pics showing the final setup.

I sent an email to the provider asking about this too. I will update the thread with their answer.

Cheers

Hi there again,

Don from Ricor/vibranator company indicated that this is the right device for a Tenere xt660z with BarkBusters hand guards:

http://www.vibranator.com/ProductDet...0-S11-M01-T150

I will keep you posted about the installation and final result.

He also sent me a quick pdf manual about how to fit the vibranator with and without handguards. Send a PM if you are interested and I can send it by email.

Cheers

The original bar weights are 450g EACH - no wonder that it is a heavier than an 80'ies tenere :-)

Barkbuster also have weight that will fit the vps guards: http://www.barkbusters.net/media/new-product.html

I assume that gms is an abbreviation for gram (SI unit normally g).
But they are only 180g a piece.

The combination of vibranor and the external weights might be at least as good as the just-add-a-ton-of-weight original ones.

I'm looking for hard guards (primarely for weather protection) but will not have more vibrations than stock.

I actually ordered one of these too from here:

http://www.dirtbikebitz.com/barkbust...6-p-14938.html (No extra shipping cost).

I will fit them together with the vibranator. I will see whether installing both together will require a longer bolt. I mentioned this to Don, so he may send a bolt with the right lenght. I will let you know.

In terms of weight, 180grams seems like not much, but I will see the result once installed. The vibranator device will add some weight so, as you said, both of the may get close to the original TEN's weight's weight

Cheers
