Once you go black, you never go back
Now, I know the plastics for the ten are relatively cheap, but I couldn't afford 250 quid to replace all my grey plastic with black, so instead I spent 40 quid on spray paint...
Here goes nothing. Step 1, strip all the plastics. Cover them in WD40 to loosen the grease and leave them to soak. Step 2, kitchen degreaser and warm soapy water. Step 3, wash them again! (I had to go a bit crazy with washing it, as I just had my bike treated to an ACF-50 wash) Step 4, Plastikote acrylic primer. 4 hours drying. Step 5, Plastikote tough black satin. 4 hours drying. Step 6, Plastikote outdoor flat black. 4 hours drying. Step 7, second coat of flat black. 4 hours drying. Here's where we are so far: ![]() The tail end is just about to have its last coat of matt black. The indicator panels, I've only just started as I needed a day when I wasn't using the bike. More pics later! Wish me luck...
