Sorry to hear of your problems. Has your dealer fitted a new loom and regulator / rectifier?

Might it be a stator rather then regulator/rectifier problem? Have they checked the output from the generator and through the loom prior to the reg/rec?
It really shouldn't be a recurring problem once it is fixed correctly. Jx |

I agree with Jenny, my thoughts are that the mechanic hasn't solved the problem, just fixed some of the symptoms.

To me the mechanic has not found the problem, he needs to look further into the charging system. Let one of the senior mechanic's ride your bike home for a week to check the charging & amp draw, they will soon fix it if they have to walk home.

If they changed all of those components for new (baring in mind it is very unlikely it was all three that were wrong in the first place which suggests they didn't isolate the cause properly), then I cannot see why you would still be having problems - unless they didn't reassemble it properly? Like I say, if you're not getting enough charge to the battery and those components have been checked/changed, then it could well be a stator issue... alternatively, it could also be an earthing issue - either somewhere between the stator-reg/rec/battery, or indeed another earth issue that is draining the battery?

Good luck with getting it sorted - if your dealer is drawing a blank, then an independent vehicle (motorcycle) electrical specialist ought to be able to pin-point the problem... Jx ps. a Divvy?! - behave! |
