water crossings

just wondering how the xtr copes with deep water crossings,and what to seal up ,if anything.

If your considering doing a few water crossing i would take the tank off and seal up the block connectors to the left to help stop the corrision/water ingress.

Apart from that drop it down a gear and plough on

I would make sure the air box lid is water tight with snorkel installed & the engine breather system is completely water tight.

I would remove the fuel tank, left frame side cover & unplug the connectors then spray every electrical connector with a water repellent spray.

I used to race enduro's for many years & encountered river crossings so be prepared or you will be pushing.

Thanks i,ll do that today.
There are 1600 bridges over 2500mls,so there,ll be plenty of water on this trip.
The worse thing is the surging between 10/15 mph. GRRRR!

i,m leaving on tues. to meet up with 2 other riders,who are already in eastern russia.We,ll be riding the full length of the bam railway,on the old service track.From Vanino to Bratsk and then home as part of the"sibirskyextreme" project.Have a look at the website.
