Yamaha xt 660 r cooling problem
Hallo,
I have a 660 r from 2004 and I have a problem with the cooling. I did a slow ride about a week ago where in needed to stop alot, and my engine went hot. I stopped the engine and later rode home where I noticed that the level of cooling liquid was just under minimum. The next day I filled my radiator and after I put the cap back on and turned on the engine it started squirting out the cap. I already order a new cap, but the problem is not gone. I drained the system and filled it up again, but still the same problem... Can somebody help me or put me in the right direction? I am not a mechanic, but I know the basics. Thanks in advance! |

I checked for leaks and checked the oil, all OK. I think it is the cylinder gasket, so I am going to change it and then see it the problem stops

Why??

Because if there is a crack in the gasket there could be more pressure when the enige starts. And that could be why the water squirts out.
