Riding style
I have had my xtx for a few years now and having upgraded from a hornet I carried over the same riding style ( body inline with the bike and knee out through the corners) does everyone use this sort of riding position on the street? After watching a lot of supermoto videos I was wondering if anyone uses a more off road style of riding Thier xtx? (body upright and pushing the bike down into the bends) I just fitted my first set of distanzias and I'm a lot more confident in the traction they give me so I have been experimenting with the supermoto style of riding and the bike feels a lot more stable thought the corners ( have to say I'm 6'5 and with the hieght of the bike plus me the centre of gravity is pretty high so the supermoto style makes me feel a lot more comfortable) I know it's probably a matter of opinion which style is best for the road I just wondered if anyone else uses it aswell.

Im 6`5" as well.. I jist ride trail bike style,, none o that Knee out stuff... thats only kiddology.... even Leg out stuff as well,, jist ride it it an enjoy it.. the bike will go down much further than ye can probably suffer it... an it takes a lot before its gonna go... sayin that depends if ye alyways ride on the edge o the tyre. the only reason the put their leg out is tae get their feet out the way tae get it down that wee bit more... if this bike had to go in the picture,, hed break his leg

That is some insane lean angle! The more I think about it a mixture of both is probably the way to go- feel a lot more comfortable pushing the bike down on slow corners and small roundabouts but long sweeping bends at speed feel more natural going with the bike and putting the knee out.

Try riding around some of the small lanes up in the Dales or Lakes in the 'vertical to the bike' position and you are likely to get your head knocked by cars on corners.
I personally 'roll' the bike underneath me and keep my body upright on small windy roads 'cos even at my height, your head will get precariously close to cars on corners. Maybe it's my perception but going around slow corners lke this on the Ten' I feel more in control and can really shift from left corners to right very quickly and vice versa. Just my way of doing it, we all have differing riding techniques. You have to find the one that suits you the best.

I tried everything from proper motocross leg out stuff (still do it every now and then for the crack on a Tiger 1050!!!) to hanging off the bike so far the bike was near vertical and i was near on the ground (not hard to do at our height when you do it!!!) Just be careful in the damp or wet conditions when you hold you body up right and go in and out of a corner, going in the front can feel as if its going to wash out so you will need to lean forward a bit to weight up the front and similar for the rear when exiting it will want to spin up (or as i call it brown trousers moment) so again shift weigh back a bit from normal.
