The mototech ones are 116 from germany free delivery on ebay, but the yamaha one is about the same price from a yam dealer, 120 or less i,ve seen them from a yam dealer .i,ve had the yam one on a previous bike i had and gave it a few bashes and was it was ok, pretty sturdy.
Quality wise they both look the same, id be more inclined to order one from a yam dealer.

Go for Yamaha one, strongest and most cost effective. It'll work fine with lowered suspension; you'll just find it a bit harder to pull on to the stand!!

Put the Yamaha one on tonight. I was going to take pics of how to put the springs on without lots of pennies. Used some 4mm cord and using a 'pulley' system the springs went on so quickly that I didn't have time to take a pic!
Took about 15mins to put on, but then I have done it before

Bring on then Dragon.

totally agree on that one Steve...

When i was putting mine on(ignoring the fact that i gave up putting the smaller rubber insert in and cut it and glued it) the springs where a doddle.
Tried the coin trick, all i did was have lots of coins all over the floor as they kept pinging out. Simply attached a rope(blue nylon stuff) around and with the help of another pair of hands slowly pulled it over. Took all of about... oh 15 seconds each spring....

oh the value of hindsight...

Springs

I'm not sure if the SW MOTECH brand centerstand has an easier set of springs to put on, but I just used a beefy flat head screwdriver to put them on. I braced the driver head on the extruded pin that holds the springs to the stand and leveraged the springs into place. Then I slipped the screwdriver out, easy peasy!

Genuine Yamaha Centre Stand Fitting

Fitted a Yamaha centre stand to the Tenere last night, as noted by others, getting the upper rubber stopper/bumper fitted was the most difficult part. I pulled the "tail" through by tying strong fishing line around the small long rubber end and threading it through the hole then by pulling on it until I could get a pair of pliers onto it to hold it tight and keeping pulling pressure on the cone, then some WD40 on the cone and a small screwdriver to progressively work the rubber cone into the hole eventually saw the cone pop through. Very relieved to achieve this without tearing the rubber but it seems pretty tough.

The springs went on fairly easily with a short length of rope to pull the end onto the stand terminals.

The nuts for the main bolts look to have a locking feature to prevent them coming undone but will get some Locktight today and re-fix them to be sure.

No, it's a different part altogether.

Talking An easy way

My method was to put the zip tie through the last ring of the spring or the 'hook' at the end of the spring and then make a loop out of the zip tie ( or 2 zip ties end-to-end ) and then use the loop of zip ties as a hand pull to pull the spring up to the fixture point.
My easy way to fit the spring, (the same way as fitting springs on truck brake shoe mounts) is to use the largest star (phillips) srewdriver.
The star part of the screwdriver will grip the spring retainer, so place the hook of the spring on the shank of the tool & lever the spring down over mount. A true believer of the K.I.S.S. theory
