I fitted the PCIII and the DNA Stage 1&2 filters on my XTX! Kev sent me a map (cheers mate) and now the bike is as it should be!!
FUN LIKE THE :devil[1]:!! |
This is what I did
Reinstalled the DNA stage 1+2, finally removed the snorkel and adjusted my co2 + kev mod. Best performance was found at -5C, which was a bit surprising, -7C was smoother, but with less kick.
I had the biggest grin when doing the twisty backroads at EXACTLY THE SPEED LIMIT. Not. |

Cush drive rubber
This week I change cush drive rubbers. I didn't want to do cush drive mod because mine are worn too much. Now I will wait 3000 miles and then do the mod.

I fitted a Karoo to the rear. 140/80X17. A wee bit higher obviously and plenty room.

I couldn't wait to get a bit grip on dry tarmac let alone wet. lol.
|
I'll do 10 hours on it Sunday ( today ) so will have it assesed by then and half worn.

Karoo tested. Tarmac dry, good feel in bends and keeps stable on cats eyes and white lines so able to use the edge with confidence. Under braking on dry tar is normal knobbly crapness. Wet tar not encountered yet. Off road, muddy - grip is not to bad and quite acceptible, dry rocky - not bad if a wee bit rolly but predictable, dry graded - good stability, river beds - good stability. My comparison would be with the Mitas CO2 and TKC 80. Mitas is superior in mud but that's it, everything else it's lethal. The TKC has stability everywhere but mud in which it's useless. Now it's down to longevity which only time will tell.

Another boost with the Karoo is that by fitting a 140/80x17, the speedo reads 2mph more accurate than before obviously because the rolling radius is bigger i,e, the tyre is higher which is preferable in bogs too. lol.
