Got an 07 XTX 1st March, Blue one, a bit of a change from an R6.
Having lots of fun. I live near the Yorkshire Dales which suits this bike down to the ground. Have done 2800 miles. Wore the back tyre (MTR02) out in 1200 this tyre suits this bike. Fitted a Diablo as a stop gap. not a good choice think it's a bit too hard. Going to try Dunlop Mutants. The engine still surges at low speed, think it's the nature of the beast, light flywheel etc. Fitted a 14 tooth sprocket, lots, lots better. Also did the Kev mod which just about sorted it out totally (Just the variable resister part). Fuel consumption running in was 55 to the gallon 120ish to reserve. Normal running about 50 to the gal. Hard running 47. No oil used. First service was 32. Fitted bash plate and hand gaurds as well. A roads fine, B roads a real hoot, Motorways ok but hard work over 80. Fixtures, fittings and finish all ok. Having new cush rubbers on warranty there falling apart. |
Hi deafblind and welcome to the forum.
I wanted an '07 XTX but my dealer told me there were non in the country in March and there wouldn't be any until May at the earliest. Are you sure it's the '07 model? Has it got a lambda sensor on the left hand side on your exhaust? I've heard reports of the '07 model doesn't surge. Also heard that some dealers are selling '06 bikes on 07 plates. |
Had mine a month. Went for the all black and it looks great. Only done 200 miles but the tyres are scrubbed to the edge and I've not had any issues yet. Fuelling seems fine and I like the fact that when I change the pipes I won't have to make any additional changes.
Changes to the swingarm, rear pegs and grab handles all look great and give the bike a slightly more up market look than before. I can highly recommend CMC in Cannock for anyone interested. |
Hiya.
Definately an 07, Lambda sensor left pipe. Was lucky to get the bike and only in blue. My dealer said it was the only one he could get and may be June/July till the next ones. Apparently there's a bit of a shortage! Was in the dealers yesterday, still no X's but he has a couple of R's. |
You are one lucky fella. That's just what I ordered but my dealer left it for 2 weeks to tell me that they couldn't get one. That was 2 days before the Easter holidays. I was not impressed with them one bit so I bought the '06 model instead with 800 off the recommended price.
June/July tallies up with what my dealer said so that's a first bit of truth for my dealer (I've been having tons of grief from them). Glad your enjoying your XTX tyre eater and BTW it's not blue it's "racing blue". They're faster than the rest. :devil[1]:(runs away before that bloke wiv da red one comes along). |
Hi all, had my spanking new 07 XTX now for a few weeks. Only done 300 miles though. Had a bit of a serging issue with it so took it back to the dealer and had a word. Machanic was great, fiddled about with the mixture, test ride, fiddled a bit more, test ride etc. He made the mixture a bit richer and adjusted the TPS a touch (it was set on 11, now 15) and the bike runs just about perfect! Don't miss the XJR13 one bit, BIG smiles on every ride.:HappyRoll_ANPIUI:

I know for a fact that Yamaha are stocking the more elite dealers like George White and Infinity and leaving the "lesser" or multi-brand dealers, with a longer waiting list. And for heaven's sake guys, don't listen to the salesman talk, you might get more sense out of a stone, forget the monkey and ask to speak to the organ grinder instead!!! :D |
