This can be morphed into a suitable hanger now that Pleiades has very kindly supplied me with the dimensions. Mr B. O'wulf is also supplying me with the necessary hardware - stainless bolts, can hangers , spacers etc. Fantastic!

Thanks to Mr Pleiades for info throughout this thread. Finally got round to my soil pipe mod. Spotlights next.

Yes, i know that, another good point. What I meant is that there is not a lot of choice for CE approved single decat exhaust.

This seems to be the spot for Exan tips and advice.

Disclaimer: I am far from a mechanic.

I've got the stock pipe off ok. The original gasket melted on a bit so I've had to chip away at the bulge of mess that has left. With the best part of that off, I'm trying to fit the link pipe. I don't think I'm getting it far enough on because the exhaust itself seems to be in the wrong place if I put it all together.

'm wondering how much play should there be, or how far on should the link pipe be, in the first instance before putting on the clamp? Any tips or advice of any kind would be really appreciated. I have the Exan oval classic.

The link pipe should slide onto the 'Y' pipe at least the width of the clamp (and a little more). Bear in mind that the oval and round cans are a little longer than the X-Black and as a result the tail outlet will sit a bit further back than in the photos of mine.

Here's a picture that may help gauge the positioning of the parts...

Thank you, that's a useful gauge. I wasn't clear on how much work the clamp should be doing so that helps.

And thanks for the higher quality photo. I'll have another crack when the sun rises tomorrow in that case.

Thanks for your help guys. I'l put some pictures up once I find a host for the images, it's Christmas come a little early for me!

Quick one - I've made no fuelling/air filter/intake mods at all, and just stuck on the exan oval classic. I wanted to clarify that no further mods are necessary for the can to work ok with stock fuelling. I will upgrade filter with an OTR air filter but am happy with performance for now.

You'll be fine with the stock fuelling with just the exhaust.

Thanks again Pleiades
