In my local dealer the Divvy is priced at about 5700 ish and the 'Ten is up for 6500 ish. So if you're gonna do a swap i'd be asking HIM for 500. Why not just a new 'Ten? I'd be pushing for that. Pete. |
Hi Guy's, Now after checking the conector/loom to the reg/rec found that a couple of pins not making very good contact- moved pins and started charging (aparently modern connector pins not as good as older ones:angry7:) and found slight water ingres in reg/rec part of connector ( faces upwards and collects all crap etc)...,resolution! loom repaired with new connector, reg/rec block replaced and relocated with new mounting bracket above and behind rad but in front of coolant tank...with me so far? have done some pic's to explain better, will try to post them, so far so good done @60mls :wow:

Hope your problems are over, Iv'e been there and done that, my bike seems fine again now it really put me off at the time and took some miles to restore my faith in my bike.
Thing is if you change what for ? I looked at the G650GS but BM seem to have their problems too, snapping chains etc far more dangerous than what a lot of us Ten owners have suffered. Get the miles in while its under warranty and rstore your faith. Mine happened 2 months before the warranty finished !!!! |
Hi Stuxtttr, Yes, It does put you off, although i feel better about the modification made, my other half is still not happy taking it on tour in the wilds of gods ridin country (Scotland):sad1: and we need to to take the Ten (or A bike). The only other machine i like /suites my style of riding is a Versys...sorry i swore:retard:
I've got the pix to show you all, but tried to post them and failed:moonshine[1]: anyone know how? TDMalcolm |

Google photobucket, open an account and follow instructions from there to upload your pics into your new account. When your pics are in your photobucket account you can then resize them down to 640x360. When you hover the cursor over each pic you will see several options, one of which is "img code". Copy and paste this into your post and hey presto, pics. Its easier than it sounds, honest. http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/...0/PB200523.jpg |
