Kemizz - I reckon all black would look the business, especially with gold wheels?

Infact, that would have saved me a lot of money in paint!

Yes I am indeed using the running lights as indicators, I also have 2 rows of Orange LED's side by side with the rear brake and tail light that are my indicators, Works a treat and there is a lot less to break now :-)

To cover the original front indicator mounting points I made up some special epoxy domed stickers, I am making new ones at the moment with a nice red background,

Neat mods with the indicators Jules...

I did the same with the fronts, and just incase anyone hasn't seen them, allow me to hi-jack this thread a moment with an alternative for the rear:

Hi Ricky - if you mean mine, they are LED (4 in a cluster) replacements for the standard side-light bulbs... they are very bright, especially in a forward direction...

That said, I tried some orange coloured (5w I think) bulbs I had at home, and they work very well too (they are what's in my bike at the moment) - the reflector is surprisingly effective...

Hi JMo, slightly off topic since I see your cool bike again. With all the mods you have done in particular the filters and single can exhaust (and Power Commander too??), I am curious to know the gas mileage. You mentioned how your mod bike has 'opened up' around your Legend race, and I would like to know if the fuel efficiency did not suffer much due to the modifications. I think many have said the stock gas mileage is at 400-450+ km per tank. Any comments/data would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Jo' -

To be honest, I've not really done any specific tests, as on the rally the mileage was all over the place due to harder use, and also my odometer is out now too with the larger rear wheel... but I'd say there is perhaps a 10%-15% drop overall?, it's not significant if you are being gentle... that said, there was one [competitive] day that it struggled to reach 260kms on a full tank, that was a particularly enjoyable, if slightly nerve-wracking experience!

I'll be heading to the Horizons Unlimited meeting on the Tenere this weekend, so will endeavor to see how many miles/kms I get from a full tank (allowing for the odometer, and using my GPS) in 'general' riding conditions...

Got rid of the grey a few weeks back, used No Nonsense Acrylic matt spray available from..... Screwfix Direct. Works really well and so fast drying you wouldnt believe. 1no 400ml can covers all panels incl rear grabs. At 5.49 / can its well worth buying a few for touch up if rq'd.
Will post some pics asa.

The next step :-)

As a trial I took some black vinyl and covered the screen up,

Wasn't sure if it would work or if the total black out would annoy me on the road but after 400k's yesterday I like it a LOT!

Looks sooo mean!
