Unfortunately I was a little busy with a project that in the end turned to be a lot a time waste and no money :violence: so no time to keep you guys posted.
In the meantime I received the DNA Stage 3 side filter and the Stage 3 KEV Mod. WOOOW all those power mods turned the Tenere in a really smooth and powerful machine. Thanks Kev and Captmoto for the support. I also got a new set of rubber, MT21 front and E09 at the back. First ride was awful but after a while I got used to them. Here are some pics: http://intotheworld.eu/xt660dotcom/DNA%20Side.jpg http://intotheworld.eu/xt660dotcom/KMod.jpg http://intotheworld.eu/xt660dotcom/MT21.jpg http://intotheworld.eu/xt660dotcom/E09.jpg |

Nice work John and I guess at a lot less than just buying from the shelf - good on you. Personally, much prefer it without baffles. Sounds pretty-much like stock with them in.
How's plans going for the trip? Dates? Route? |

I kind of like the rifle sounds too but doesn't those little explosions damage the silencer wool? That's why I've been thinking about blocking the AIS on my Tenere. I could be wrong. What do you think? Jami |

http://www.intotheworld.eu http://blog.intotheworld.eu If everything works as planed in the following 3 weeks I'll finish the preps to my bike and at the end of august we'll be on our way. The route is more detailed on the journey/route section of the site and it includes: For the European leg: Romania (is were we start), Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy (I am really siked to ride the Stelvio Pass :blob8: ) Swiss, Germany (guess who we're gonna visit :icon_mrgreen:), France and Spain (maybe Belgium and Holland); Africa: Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, B. Faso, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, DR Congo, Angola, Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Djibouti. Please note that we don't have a time limit and we expect the adventure to last at least 12 months but as always thing are relative. I'll keep you guys posted, Cheers, |
So, any news on preparation? Did you do the custom center stand yet?

Sorry for the loooong delay but thing are pretty crazy around here. We're struggling to finish prep. and head on but so far change the departure date for the third time (from 15th Aug to 1st of Sept and now let's hope we'll be gone till the 15th of Sept). Our camping gear is here at last from the States (really cheaper than EU) but unfortunately we couldn't get a really good deal on our moto gear so far. I hope that this week things will clear out and at the end of next week we'll have the gear ready as we want to do a test drive before we go. The Tenere is currently at Radu's (a really nice guy who's fabricating the pannier rack, alu engine guard, center stand etc) and I hope that he will finish work by the end of this week so I'll be back with all the details (photos and more). Other parts are on the way (Hyperpro combo kit - thanks hyperpro and SO-Products for support, GPS mount, Scottoiler etc) so again I'll keep you guys posted with the progress. Cheers, Ionut |
