OK guys,
Got a good one for you... Just fitted the replacement dash unit that I bought from ebay. It works fine and I have re-coded the keys - no problem. Being from Germany, the dash came set to KM/H, and I have tried the suggestions earlier in this thread, but to no avail. Maybe someone from mainland europe could do me a favour and see if their dash units can be switched back and forth, or whether they only have KM/H available? Any ideas anyone? Thanks, Storm |
No problem, I will try and tell you.
Just give a few minutes... |
I am sorry mate, but it did not work here either. I tried:
- Turning the ignition on and then pressing select for at least 30 secs. - The same but keeping select pressed alredy before turning ignition on - The same, but after having started the engine All this having the total mileage on the display (ODO). I repeated the tests having the other trip counter on the display with the same result. If you want me to try something else just let me know |
That's pretty much what I did too. Cheers mate. :sad8:
Anyone else got any ideas? |
John, I would hate to think that the dash fitted to European bikes are programmed differently, however provided these are in full working order you should be able to switch between kpm and mph on the fly even when the engine is running, so without sounding silly have you tried to switch the engine on, then scrolled the display until the trip counter actually show ODO next to the number and THEN press the 2 buttons together for a short time, if everything works the display should swich to either mph or kpm. If it doesnt, either there's something wrong with it or you could try and refit the dash plug making sure it is correctly fitted and try again & report.
good luck |
Capt, readin ther oer they last posts ...see am now delvin intae old stuff that a didnt know existed. a also sent a pm tae Magnum... a guy fae Edinburgh who joined up there in Nov 06...ye didnt tell me about him.... but as it goes kinda followin on tae some points in this thread.....
