Scottnet, I've just fitted the dakar bars tonight to my Ten and found that with the bars on full right lock the throttle cable becomes just too tight. Was that your reason for cutting 10mm off the ends? Just curious before I get trimming or ordering a new cable. It's only the pull cable that's too short, and it's too short rather than able to be adjusted out sadly.

No that was not the reason but that did help. I did notice in the same position as the standard bars the cable was tight on full right lock but I had my bars rolled forward so that solved that.

In the standing position cutting 10mm of each end and rolling foward slightly made for very comfortable rideing. Sitting you stretch just a tiny bit but soon get used to it.

So before ordering new cables I would suggest you try move the controls inwards as far as you can, this will be enough to free up the cable. Then if that all works out you can cut the bars, else you may need a longer cable

Thanks Scott. I did roll the bars as forward as they can go (with my handguards), but after a ride I'm not sure about keeping them. The comfort of the position is spot on, but the vibes at 5k rpm are quite intrusive. I will think some more to see if I can come up with a way of adding weights to the bars.
