Insurance

Everyones got some sort of insurance so i would like to know

What insurnace company are you with? and have you had any troubles or any good points about them?

I'll start, im with Rampdale insurance. They are not too bad have a call centre somewhere in the UK with properly english people who arent just reading from a book. Bad points, Renewal quotes could be lower and they complain the market changes so much that one week a got a quote last year of 500 then a week later is was 400!!! bit miffed at that.

Im looking at getting a new insurance quote but as usual the quotes range quiet stupidly and im still not happy with my cheapest quote of 450 (even though this is with the Rampdale who tried to requote me for 500 so went on the internet and now they only ask for 450!!!)

I'm with Equity Red Star. Paying approx 200 ish for my new XT but my renewal for my first 04 XT last year was 115. Both fully comp.

So far I am happy with no complaints.

I am same as Tony660x, with Equity Red Star, been with them for my last few insurances. Through a broker, Westhill Insurance Services. Who have always been very good, come renewal time, I just find the best quote I can, and so far, they have always matched it. Never had any other need to communicate with them between renewals, so cant comment on how they might handle any claim, or problems, and fingers crossed, it stays that for for a long time to come.
I pay 117 comprehensive with legal cover, I have 6 years NCB. That's on my 08 bike.
Works for me.

I am currently with bennetts too. This year i paid about 280 fully comp which i didn't think was too bad seeing as i had only just got my licence. The renewal is now 372 wtf!!!!. Done all the usual internet searches etc and best i can get is 214 from H&R and then legal cover free from thebikeinsurer.com. Looks like i'm going with them.
Isn't it stupid that quotes go up, the bike is worth less, i have 1 years NCB etc.

214 from H&R looks about right, Bennetts are robbing so and so! I agree it should of been lower with your existing supplier 1 clean year on.

Did a lot of searching around what with just having crossed the devide from VFR to XTR.

Had a lot of problems with the R version not being listed online , the only place I found that had it listed was Motorcycle direct. Of the other 6 or so places I ended up phoning , 2 had it on extended lists and 1 said they could add a note to the underwriters.

As far as prices went, mine ranged from 350 to 114 fully comp with 4 years NCD.

I ended up going with Equity Red Star and at 114. Surprisingly different brokers will charge hugely different premiums for the same insurance with the same insurer. EG: Falcon Bikes quoted me 325 for exactly the same policy with Equity Red Star as Motorcycle Direct did for me for 114.

Seems that Equity Red Star is a common theme here , they were best for my VFR too at 89 fully comp.

I cant believe that the XTR is only one group down from the VFR (13 as opposed to 14), I guess its all you XTX'ers putting the price up.
