Ongoing maintenance: Does the timing, valves etc need doing?

Hi all, as this forum is closing, and I've learned a LOT from it, there's one thing I'm not comfortable checking/doing and that is on cylinder head.
My bike is a late 2011 XTX660X, and I have religiously kept oil and filters, plug changed, chain waxed etc.
But the one thing that I haven't seen mention here is if any valve timing or valve gaps need checking, or for that matter anything other than the routine servicing that I do on it as detailed above.
As I won't be doing anything other than what I do now, is there anything needing checked generally on cylinder head, or elsewhere while I'm asking?
Many thanks guys.
