Lower mudguard removal?

Hi all!

I had a little crash a while ago and because of that the lower mudguard + metal plate are bend/cracked and my front fender cracked.
Now i'm wondering if there are any disadventages for the forks if I remove the lower mudguard + metal plate and install just an (acerbis supermoto) front fender.
