Question Lower mudguard removal?

Hi all!

I had a little crash a while ago and because of that the lower mudguard + metal plate are bend/cracked and my front fender cracked.
Now i'm wondering if there are any disadventages for the forks if I remove the lower mudguard + metal plate and install just an (acerbis supermoto) front fender.

Thanks

I personally would not remove the plate as it will help keep the forks from twisting if big pot holes are hit when riding and they do,help stabilise the bike at high speeds .I would just get another plate if yours is bent, some people might say its fine to remove it. But I would not.

A little update on this, I didn't replace the lower mudguard and drove a few hundred km's.
I haven't noticed anything odd while not having this guard. But I think i'll replace soon it just in case..
