A local bike shop had a Triumph demo day today that I'd booked a ride on the Scrambler.
Heading off amongst a Thruxton, Bobber, Speed Triple, Bonneville & Thunderbird there were plenty of heads turning to see what was making that sweet sound. That felt good.
It is a beautifully made bike & looks the business. The engine & suspension were the highlight of the bike. Admittedly though I was expecting a little more for a 900, but not to say there wasn't more than enough poke. The seat would take a bit of getting used to & I wouldn't be sure I could happily travel at Highway speed all day on, especially with the lack of wind protection. (Fly scene is on the accessories list)But for a Sunday blast around some of your favorite country roads or a trip to the coffee shop with some mates, it would be a hoot.
So going half expecting to be blown away & ready to chop in the Tenere I wasn't at all. It just didn't fit, not me anyway. I like my bikes much the same as I like women, just one good one that covers all bases in my life. I'm glad I had the opportunity to try one as you can turn yourself inside out studying spec sheets & magazine's but until you try something for yourself you just never know.
I just like my Tenere a whole lot more now.
