It would be fun to have a go & I doubt you would get an XT much lighter without bespoke unobtainium parts.

Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
...but as it happens, I agree with you! Not sure whether the required dress code is very Mad Max? Personally I prefer their more traditional offerings: They are a Norfolk-based company and are doing pretty well out of the new wave/appetite for customs. http://oldempiremotorcycles.com/

As you say Pete it's the eye of the beholder....I just like the look /vibe of a scrambler/ flatracker. The hardest thing to deal with on later bikes is the radiator. ..it kills the lines of so many bikes. The latest Bonnies from Triumph look horrible I think purely because of the radiator. At least the custom bike scene is encouraging more people to at least apreciate / acknowledge the bike scene. My friend Tom has a small custom bike shop called Foundry Motorcycle's . It's got a great little coffee shop and I love seeing Tom's latest creation evolve...he's never going to get rich from it all, it's a labour of love! And I love parking the Tenere up among the hip machines! Steve
