I went for the S-moto tail tidy. The good thing about it is, that the tail has some flex in it. Which is good on a mono engine.
It's design has one flaw though, which can be corrected easily. By default, the taillight is only fastened at the top. But with a few nuts, bolts n brackets from the hardware store, you can mount the bottem part of the taillight too. I wrote S-moto about this and they would look into it. Still haven't heard from them. So far for aftersales ![]() You can read more about this tail tidy in my topic: http://www.xt660.com/showpost.php?p=212959&postcount=34 |

The tidy arrived in double quick time...its tiny!!!
Measures 13"/330ml x 4"/100mm and more importantly(for me) the number plate area is angled at approx 8 o'clock. It would be unreadable on the road and I would have thought would be an instant 'pull' from the police.Esp with the smaller plate it would need to fit between the exhaust pipes. I contacted the seller who suggested i could heat it up/cut and bend it to the angle i desire...errr... |

I thought for 16.00 id try and fit the ebay special. 6 hours later.....
I basically cut the length of it down and then removed the sides with a dremel tool. The original angle of the number plate bracket was too acute so I scored the back of it and used a heat gun to apply a little heat and bent it to angle I wanted. I then sandwiched it between the original undergaurd and its mounting points. I then drilled four holes and attached with nuts and bolts. I was fortunate in that the aftermarket indicators are smaller and they fit perfectly with clearance between the exhaust cans. A smaller number plate is next BUT Im more than happy with the end result. 16.00 well spent!! Last edited by nikroc; 14-10-16 at 17:38. |

Good work - Where there's a will, there's a way!
![]() May I ask why you went to the trouble of masking the number plate on your XT, but left the number plate on the ZRX in full view? Might be worth pulling the attachments, photoshopping them and uploading again? |

It turned out great. Good job! And for the price unbeatable.
Is there a white/clear bit under the stoplight to illuminate the license plate? |
