Hi! I have understood this, apparently, I thought wrong in using that as the first protection.

All the best!

it is a very good product but one of the many I keep on the shelf.
It has its limitation namely it is not heavy duty (i.e thick) and like any oil product, dirt will stick to it and build up over time which is a pain to clean.

I found the best way is to use a paint brush or a saturated cloth (depending on the area to be treated) and generally avoid spraying it unless the area is inaccessible
Great as a once every year or two on areas protected from the elements, specially electrical connectors as it is safe on plastic and rubber. Anywhere else, it will fade away very quickly into a dark mess.
I am currently looking at a new alternative product once my current stock is finished

It's good to get so many opinions on a product from different perspectives, I'm think it was intially designed for the aeronautical industry, especially on large amounts of electrical harnesses. I have found it best used in small amounts with a cloth around the engine area and all visible wires, I have found it usually stays on for a couple of washes depending what kind of washing stuff you use,if used in large quantities it will just attract dirt and grime. They also make a grease which is great on electrical connections. But as I have said before each to there own. I'm trying the muck off range at the moment and there heavy endurance chain lube smells of strawberries and is sticky like honey to touch!
