The XT is a different kettle of fish really, from the Africa Twin that is. Of course, as this is an XT forum, you're going to get slightly bias reviews, but personally I can't see any value in me trying persuade you to swap a bike you love for another!

However, the XT660Z Tenere (which is the only one I can honestly comment on from experience) is a great bike and worthy of consideration. Have you ridden one yet? If you haven't, then my advice would be - get a test ride. You'll soon work out, in your own mind, whether it's worth "upgrading" your Africa Twin!

The only way to know for yourself if an XT is good for you is to ride one. As you say though if they are scarce where you are more than likely the ones that do come up for sale in those situations will probably have something wrong with them? If you have a solid bike & are happy with it I'd be inclined to keep it.
