Fire-up engine - problem
Hello to all of you!
I want your help - opinions in the following matter : I have a nice XT660R (05) bougth used 2nd hand. The problem is that mostly during cold conditions (18C and below) i cannot fire up the engine without turning also the throttle a little bit. I have checked everything, the TPS is ok, the CO is at 8, all the services are at their time (new oil and air filters, oil 15w50, valves ok). What else should I check? Does anybody have any idea? |

Hi,
I would check the idle. 1400-1500 rpm on warm engine. |

Thank you for your answer.
The idle is ok, 1480 with warm engine. While searching i found about the fast idle valve, but i have not found something more specific in the service manual. Any opinion on that? |

I don't know about fast idle valve. Have you checked your battery under load?

Maybe worth doing a compression test?
