'Rubberised ' sprocket. ?

What is a rubberised sprocket. .? Seen one advertised on ebay saying it reduces transmission strain and improves chain life. It was for the Tenere. . Steve

rubber

My vintage tenere had a rubber flange behind the front sprocket. Aftermarket replacements didn't. I had both, didn't notice any difference.

The current Tenere is no different: OE sprockets do, aftermarket don't and, I agree... you can't tell the difference!

If you're after the ultimate in silent running then I've just noticed this chain and sprocket set which has a rubber damper on the rear as well as the front! Can't see the point though if you've got an aftermarket exhaust, free flowing air filters and knobbly tyres droning away...

I agree, but it's not a bad price for a chain and sprocket set!. What sort of chain do you use Pleiades. .? Steve

D.I.D. Always have done, and probably always will! They wear well and have never let me down.

As you mention, that Ognibene kit looks very keenly priced. All we need is a guinea pig to try a set...
