fan checking
Is there a way of checking my cooling fan is working without sitting with bike running for ages. I can't say I've ever known it cone on.

Yep type in xt660 dyagnostics into Google and u can trigger it through you're clocks same as fuel pump and selonoids etc ... just can remember the process but it comes up on Google

Or pull the wires from the fan and connect straight to battery.

NO. Not unless you plug in a Yamaha diagnostic tool.
The diagnostic function is not built into the XTZ dash, unlike the R/X models. |

It doesn't take long to reach temperature to turn fan on. Couple minutes or so idling, at least in a warm climate that's how long it takes.

In normal riding it never comes on. I shouldn't worry too much that you've never heard it come on. |
