Hi has anybody bought the pivot pegs made by advan -racing as sold on ebay? They are half the price of adventure spec pegs but are they any good?

They may well be all right; a lot of Chinese stuff is these days. They're the sort of thing I'd like someone else to try first before committing, which I guess is what keithy2 is thinking/hoping!

I spotted those as well. It's not high on the farkle list, but i'm very curious if these kind of pegs live up to some claims

It's something I'd consider - I find standing on the OE pegs quite tiring for long periods.

The "real" pivot pegs on my XTR set me back
$250nz... and I got them cheap... With
exschange rate & shiping they would be little
more than half what I payed...
There is not much benifit from pivot pegs
unless you do a lot of riding standing....

I see they have them for the TTR250...
Which is prob a better bike for them instead
of the XTR as I spend 70/80% of the time
on the TTR standing...

Postage is at bit strong at �16 - makes the total price �84 for unknown copies.

The genuine item is �125 from OTR - plus about �8 postage.

I'm not sure what the pivot bit actually does!

I just want pegs that spread the load of my foot over a slightly larger surface area

I got some non-pivoting spiky metal pegs for my xtx off eBay a few years ago for �16 and I've swapped them onto four bikes since. They are a type cast iron spring loaded like the factory pegs but wide enough to be quite comfy. I can't find any on ebay now but I'm sure they are still available.

As Petenz says, there isn't any point in getting pivoting pegs unless you spend more of your time standing than sitting. The idea is they just rock fore and aft to allow you to lean forward/back yet still maintain a flat foot on the peg. I think there's a video demo on the Pivot Pegz web site?

To be honest they've been brilliant and they are only a few quid more than the Chinese pivot peg copies.

Really well made, two levels of height adjustment and they are both wider and longer than the standard pegs by some margin. They also have detachable rubbers, unlike Pivot Pegz, which does make your feet feel less tingly on a long run.

I'll try and get a photo of them on the bike with an OE rest next to it for comparisson.
