Exan exhaust fitting problems anyone?
After a lengthy delay and some faffing about I finally received my Exan titanium with carbon cap oval exhaust today. Not the XBlack one, but the more traditional oval shape.
Anyway, try as I might for the past hour, I just can't get it to line up and fit. I think the link pipe is either too long, or the bends lack angle, or its a bit of both. The link pipe and bottom end of the silencer are both really close to the frame and the edge of the mudguard plastic. While at the same time the silencer is in firm contact with the OE Yamaha pannier rail. I was assured by Exan there would be plenty of clearance.
I've emailed them as I'm sure there must be an issue with the manufacture, but just wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar and found a trick to getting it all lined up? I've slackened off all the clamps and mounts for the mid section of the exhaust, but there's not a lot of wiggle room to be had there.
I'll see if I can load some photo's, but if you are familiar with the Exan pipe I think my description will make sense. Basically, I can't get my link pipe or silencer in to the same position Plaides has managed on his. My silencer is way to close to the frame and the strap/hanger would not work, let alone with the supplied hanger bracket for it.
