Thumbs up Kev's mod for the O2-controller - XT660Z

Hi

As a big fan and owner from the first Tnr's i was riding once the new XT660Z Tnr a year ago........the injection pushed me a fat smile in my face......on paper there was just 5 PS differce - but on the bike it was feeled much more.

So i bought also one and rided it out - all finest except the pulling which was sometimes a bit jerking (with the old machines that's normal but on the new one i was expecting more). I don't want to put a PowerCommander under my as& - it must be possible with a more "natural" way that comes out from the machine itself.

After some researches i found Kev's O2-controller - expected a bit less pulling - but the result blowed me away. The machine is running so fine on any height over sea and the pulling was reduced extremely up to nothing.

I like to thank Kev (and did already personal via message) for his superb work - it's genius, that he's not just "pumped up the engine-values" - and it's useful on any speed.

If i'm mounting another exhaust i'll definitely also buy Kev's Mod - but with the original exhaust the O2-controller is just perfect.

Enjoy also your rides and regards from Switzerland

Andy

Thanks for your feedback Andy, it is nice to hear riders personel feeback from my mods in different parts of the world.

These 660 are tuned for emission control & are way to lean causing part throttle surging, correcting the open & closed loop fuel maps improves HP/Torque + better fuel economy, most riders think an A/F ratio of 14.7:1 controlled by the O2 sensor closed loop circuit gives the best consumption, the real world facts are it doesn't the best power to fuel consumption is around 13.6:1 to 13.8:1 which is where my O2 controller keeps the closed loop mapping at.

Kev mod, stage 3 air, slip on etc

I just bought a Tenere -11. It got Leo Vince slip on exhaust but I would like to improve my new baby a little more. The Kev mod and Stage 3 air are what I am thinkin of. Will this 3 mods be a good combination?

Yes, very much so.

Of the three mods you mention, the exhaust swap is actually the least economic in terms of improvement in performance against cost (but you've done it already! . Changing the system (getting rid of the cat) will make a difference to the performance, but only a small one compared with fuelling and breathing mods; it’s more about weight-saving, aesthetics and sound.

The three most productive/economic mods to do, which will smooth out your ride, increase and broaden the spread of power are and sharpen up throttle response are:

1) Kev mod (fuelling) - http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=11641 Fits all years XTX XTR XTZ 2004 to present.

2) DNA filters (stage 2 or 3) - http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=9636

3) O2 Controller - http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=20381 Fits all years XTX XTR XTZ from 2007 to present with O2 sensor.

The above trio of mods will really transform your Tenere for really not that much of a financial outlay. They will all work well with your Leo Vince exhaust.

One more question, ok maybe two...

If adding these three mods on my Tenere - will the bike need remapping/adjustments?

Are there anywhere these three mods can be ordered together, or do I need to order them from seperate dealers?
