Bit of a weird one this

I'm riding to work 3 days ago, filtering up the bus lane, scaffold lorry is blocking it ( obviously ) I go around it and BLAM! I get whacked on the head.

The young man, first day on the job has lost control of an 8m steel ladder and has dropped it right on my head as i pass the truck.
I manage not to fall off and am rather dizzy for 10 to 15 mins. Some apologies from the scaffolders and i'm on my way.

Later, with a splitting headache i realise my helmet is probably stuffed and its done its job saving my life. If i'd been a cyclist with no helmet, it might have been a very different story.

Anyway, i see them the next morning, but they seem very uninterested in discussing insurance / paying for my lid. What a surprise.

I've bought a new lid, not worth the risk of using the other one, but i'm really not sure if its going to be worth chasing payment from the scaffolders.

Any thoughts?
