There's threads about it all over the place if you can figure out the crappy search.
I think there's reasonable grounds to suspect that it's down to more than just screen height/shape, and has a lot to do with the airflow coming up through the fork 'tunnel' between the tank and the clocks. My suggestion: http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/motorc...kertasche.html No really. You can keep stuff in it too ![]()

I'm an inch or two taller than you BTW, and have a standard screen.

At least with the handlebar bag you end up with something useful even if it doesn't solve the buffeting problem
![]() Trouble is, airflow round your head is quite a personal thing. TBH it never even bothered me on a completely standard bike, but it drives some people crazy. If you try searching for 'bird comb' on here you'll probably find some other solutions to the 'airflow through the forks' theory. As for the 'it needs a bigger screen' theory there's obviously a few on the market (metal mule, puig, etc) plus the Toura**** spoiler things.

Same height as you Mr Fish and I ended up buying a Metal Mule +50mm screen and then shaping it with a heat gun. As UT says, the problem is more to do with the airflow behind the screen. I also think that the standard screen is too tall, and that a shorter screen is actually better to stop the buffeting, but then you lose some weather protection.

Buffeting
I have the Givvi screen, and use a Touratech spoiler on top of that. I also have the handlebar bag. It does seem to help, but i think earplugs are needed aswell to stop the noise.

Next step I would suggest is playing around with some gaffer tape and cardboard, see what sort of shape and height will do the job for you. Then compare with the screens/spoilers on offer to see what looks the closest/fits the bill.
I ended up getting one of these... http://shop.heroblobs.co.uk/products/aero-trim ..to go with the handlebar bag. |
