Winter proofing spokes...
Hey guys, any suggestions on how to prevent my spokes crumbling with rust this winter?
I`ve meticulously painted copious amounts of ACF-50 onto them, but just wondered if anything could be done on top of that, as its the problem area for my bike in terms of weather attacking it. - A known issue seems to be the spokes, which is shame, as other than some furring on some of the underside bolts, everything else seems ok.
I do however, live right on the coast next to a sea loch, so coupled with Scotland`s arctic winter that is inevitably round the corner, and the spray of salt from the sea, I'm struggling to keep it in good condition and its under the biggest Stormex you can get. Crikey its only done 2500 miles since new, so its a bit disappointing to see rusty spokes, back and front.
Also 2nd question. Any suggestion of paint to repaint springs on Yam centre stand? I gave the small one a bit of abuse trying to do the coin trick first time around, and now some of the paint has come off and I cna see bare metal.
Obviously this maybe an ideal location for rust to attack, so hoping that i can seal it back up. I assume its powder coated but is there a small tin of something i can use?
