couple of question was just wondering which way you guys check the oil level on your xt660z,s

ive done it how it says in the manual and it doesnt show any oil on the dipstick and ive tried the same way a few times,also ive noticed from new that it has spots of oil over the end of the cans (the silver surround on the end of the cans) after each ride.

the bike has currently done 1900 miles

any help appreciated
