Hi,
Is there any chance to lower this bike a bit. I mean I would fell more comfy having both feet on the ground. Any aftermarket seats or lowering kit for suspensions or any other options here?? Thanks |

yes there are 2 ways, one you drop the forks a few inches through the yokes and two you can get a set of lowering links for the back end, from ebay

hI,
thanks for that. Is the lowering kit any good? Has anybody tried it? Would it affect my warranty if fitted? BTW, What would affect warranty? Sorry for silly questions here but... |

A few people have had issues with chain tensioning, but we believe this is probably down to worn sprockets / chain. Look there is another way around lowering your seating position and that is by having a bike seat upholsterer unstaple the saddle vinyl cover and cut off 2 or 3 inches from the foam in the middle of the saddle where you park yo'ass, and then restaple. It's the best way because not only it doesn't affect the bike geometry but also does away with lowering links and issues with chain tension. I have had it done to my bike too. |

When I first rode my tenere at the dealers I felt there was quite alot of vibration coming up through the seat at a certain rev on getting back to the dealers I commented on this after all it had been 20 years since I had riden a bike on the road. They had put a seat lowering kit on it so as the bike might draw abit more interest. They took this of and I felt it much better,so I bought it.The machanic said well this is how it was ment to be.

Me having a 30" inside leg, i needed the 50mm lowering links. I bought them on Ebay from Lust Racing. Dead easy to fit and work a treat!!! Only thing i did do was to cut off 3/4 inch off the sidestand, and reweld the foot back on. I did this as when the lowering links were on, the bike stood a little too vertical for my liking, and could have blown over quite easily. I made sure i bought a bike that already had the factory fitted lower seat too. Its great now. I can get both balls of my feet down!! pic of my bike with the lower seat and lowering links just visible undernieth. |

Having read this thread I like the idea of the lower seat. I see the factory fitted lower seat you mention in your picture. Are these available anywhere or have you got to get foam taken out of the seat as CaptMoto advises. If this the only way is there any cushioning left? I guess this would leave my rear end pretty bad after a short while. NAC |

I lowered my bike 30mm but the firm sent me a set to lower it 15mm by mistake.
So I've got a set that will lower it by 15mm if you want them... PM me if interested. I ended up dropping it by about 40mm in the end and it feels great now, dropped the forks a little too to keep it all nice an level. She's stable at high speed and still has bundles of ground clearance off road to boot...
